How far in advance should I arrive before my appointment?

You should arrive 15 minutes before any Spa Treatment.

What if I’m late for my appointment?

Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, potentially reducing its effectiveness. Your treatment will end on time so that the next guest is not delayed. However if you are running more than 15mins late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled to allow other clients to keep their appointments as scheduled.

How much notice do you require if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

Treatment times and services you select are reserved especially for you; please note there is a 24hr cancelation requirement. Should you cancel in less than 24hrs or no show, there is a $25 no show/cancelation fee.

What about my comfort?

This is your time and you should delight in the experience to the fullest. Whether it’s the wax or room temperature or the volume of the music… and we’ll be happy to accommodate you!

What do I wear for my wax?

Suzan respects the ultimate privacy of clients. During each treatment, the areas of the body not involved are clothed or covered. For bikini waxes, after underwear is removed, you will be draped with a towel. If we are leaving a strip at the front, you hold the towel where you want the line to be, if all the hair is being removed, hold the towel at midline.

Is there a minimum age?

All guests under 18 years of age may be accompanied by a parent. Salon services are available for all ages.

How long should my hair be for waxing to be effective?

Your hair should be 1/8 to 1/4 inches long, depending on the thickness of the hair.

What areas of the body can be waxed?

The wax can be used on almost any part of the body as needed. It is wise to test a small area first for sensitivity. Some frequently waxed areas for women are legs, underarms, bikini line, eyebrows and face. For men: chest, leg, arms, and back. The exceptions for waxing are the male genitals, beards, nipples, eyelashes, and inside the ears.

Does waxing hurt?

Many clients are surprised to find that it does not hurt as much as they expected it to. It feels like a bandage being pulled off. As you can imagine, this is minor in some areas and much more painful in other more sensitive areas. The sting lasts a split second, and may be tender if touched for the next few hours. Your body adjusts with continued waxing so each session becomes less painful.

Schedule a bikini wax in the middle of your monthly cycle, not directly before or during. Waxing during pregnancy can be done depending on your comfort level; please know bruising and bleeding are more like to occur in the bikini area. We can remove a small patch of inconspicuous hair to determine your sensitivity.

How long will the results last?

After a first waxing, the results can last 3 to 6 weeks depending on the individual’s hair re-growth. In most cases, hair growth is minimal during the first week or two and noticeably increases in the third and fourth week. Heat stimulates hair growth, therefore hair grows quicker in the summer than in the winter. With regular waxing the length of time between treatments will increase & re-growth will decrease.

Will the hair grow back thicker?

Absolutely not. It might seem so because you will be accustomed to a hairless zone, and new hair will be intolerable. Usually, regrowth will be finer, thinner and slower. Eventually, hair growth may stop altogether.

Are there any health precautions to keep in mind?

VERY IMPORTANT: Some physicians do not recommend waxing for persons suffering from diabetes or who have varicose veins or poor circulation as they are more susceptible to infection. Waxing is never done on clients taking Accutane and is not recommended for clients taking Retin A, Renova, Differin or other types of skin thinning acne medications. Please read the label carefully and consult your dermatologist if you are taking any medication or using any topical cream that contains these medications. Individuals do react differently to these medications and sometimes waxing can be done if proper patch testing is completed.

Also, please advise your esthetician if you are allergic to any foods – because if you can’t eat it, you shouldn’t put the extracts on your skin. Please be completely honest with your Skin Care Therapist about all allergies and medications you are taking – it is for your protection.

What are the possible side effects of waxing and how can they be minimized?

Although we can not predict or guarantee who may react, most clients do not experience reactions beyond redness and minor irritation. Hair may break at the root during waxing, causing some hairs to grow out faster. Please follow these guidelines to minimize irritation and possible break outs.

  • Absolutely NO artificial tanning for the first 48hours. Avoid the natural sun immediately after waxing for the first 24hr-48hrs and please wear sun screen; recently waxed areas are prone to hyperpigmentation (permanent darkening of the skin) if exposed to the sun, depending on the sensitivity of your skin.
  • Avoid heavy exercise for at least 24 hours after waxing.
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools and other heated sources for at least 48 hours.
  • Do not use exfoliating products (AHAs, scrubs, etc) and loofas for at least 24 hours after waxing.
  • Avoid tight clothing after waxing, especially in the waxed areas. Tight clothing may result in irritation and ingrown hairs.
  • Regular exfoliation may be helpful especially on leg and arm areas.
  • Routine waxing helps the skin get accustomed to the procedure and may minimize irritation.
  •  You can shower and have sex immediately after a Brazilian.
  • Products are available that can be applied topically to avoid in-grown hairs and condition the skin for better waxing results.

How long does waxing take?

Depending on the body part and the density of the hair growth, your waxing appointment will take between fifteen minutes and one hour. The Standard Brazilian and Signature Brazilian take 10-15 minutes on average.

What can you expect from a Standard Bikini Wax versus a Brazilian Bikini Wax?

The Standard Brazilian removes hair from the first layer of the epidermis. The Signature Brazilian covers all the same areas however the technique used is slightly different in that it removes the hair down to the second layer of the epidermis, therefore requiring the hair to take longer to re-grow. The results of the signature technique typically extend your Brazilian by an additional 2-3 weeks depending on your hair growth, making The Signature Brazilian longer lasting..

How long will the results last?

After a client’s first waxing, the results can last 3 to 6 weeks depending on the individual’s hair re-growth rate. In most cases, hair growth is minimal during the first week or two and noticeably increases in the third and fourth week. Heat stimulates hair growth, therefore hair grows quicker in the summer than in the winter. With regular waxing the length of time between treatments will increase. Continued waxing results in sparse hair re-growth.

Lipomassage FAQs & Answers

Lipomassage | Pricing

What is Lipomassage?

Lipomassage by Endermologie®, a registered trademark of LPG Systems, was introduced to Europe in the 1980s, and the United States in the early 1990s. It is a non-invasive

approach to reducing or eliminating cellulite. Endermologie® was invented in France in the 1970s as a treatment to reshape scar tissue, though many patients observed reduction of cellulite and improvement in skin texture. Since then, Lipomassage has been used as a treatment for cellulite reduction and skin toning.

Who shouldn’t receive Lipomassage treatments?

Because Lipomassage increases blood flow by up to 400%, some conditions may be exacerbated, or some organs over-burdened upon treatment. For this reason, I cannot offer treatment to those diagnosed with cancer, heart disease, thrombosis, hepatitis, diabetes and those taking a number of prescription drugs. If you have a specific medical condition, just ask when you call to schedule your consultation.

Is the Endermologie treatment painful?

Most patients compare Lipomassage treatment to getting a very deep massage and even find the treatment relaxing. The intensity of the rolling action can be adjusted to match your personal comfort level, so if you have concerns, just share them with me.

Is Lipomassage FDA approved?

Yes is is! Approved in 1998, Endermologie® was the first mechanical treatment to receive FDA approval for cellulite reduction.

What are the risks or complications of Lipomassage?

Everybody is different, so temporary, mild bruising, sensitivity reactions, and broken capillaries might occur.

How many Endermologie treatments are necessary?

Results may become evident within as little as 6 treatments, with a typical course running 14-28 initial treatments, 1 to 2 times a week, in order to achieve the optimal results. After that a single monthly visit should be sufficient for maintenance. Treatments are usually 30 minutes long, and the treat the entire body. In addition to the targeted areas, your Endermologie treatments will help increase lymphatic flow and help promote better circulation throughout your entire body.

Will this work for me?

There is no guarantee, but ninety percent of all Lipomassage clients notice improvement in cellulitic areas.

Does Endermologie replace the need for liposuction?

Liposuction does not reduce the appearance of cellulite and can actually leave loose skin which will increase the appearance of cellulite. Liposuction mainly works on the middle layer of fat, sucking out fat cells but leaving the top layer of skin still dimpled and full of cellulite. Endermologie will directly attack the dimpled top layer of skin, breaking up the congested lymphatic flow which promotes the appearance of cellulite.

How is Lipomassage different from liposuction?

The main difference is that Endermologie is not a physically invasive surgery. The risk involved with liposuction are so great that many patients try Lipomassage first before committing themselves to the surgical alternative of liposuction. Plastic surgeons all over the country recommend Lipomassage as part of the Liposuction process. Several treatments before surgery will make the fat softer, and easier for the surgeon to extract, while treatments after surgery will smooth out the lumps and the bumps often associated.

What are the after-effects from receiving Endermologie?

You will likely feel an increase in energy and an overall feeling of relaxation. Minor, temporary bruising can occur, similar to what you would receive from a deep tissue massage.

Can men benefit from Endermologie technology?

Men and women both show equally amazing results from the treatment. For men, the trouble areas of “love handles” and loose pectoral tissue can achieve favorable improvement from treatment.

Can I achieve the same results at home?

Even the most expensive home-based machines do not approach the results of a clinically supervised treatment. Home treatments are not FDA approved and lack the scientific research to prove their claims. Think of it like any specialized professional field. You could paint your own car with spray cans in the garage, but no matter how much money you save, the results won’t even be in the same league.
